A look Into What I Take With Me & Why Hey guys, so today I thought I would walk you through my equipment, let you see what I take on the road with me and why. I've always loved gadgets, especially when it comes to cameras and camera equipment. So without further ado, lets get to it. Sony A7ii Prior to my Sony A7ii, I had a Canon 60d, and wow what a difference. Yeah I know that the 60d is getting old, but the Sony absolutely blasts it out of the water. The camera delivers amazing photography and videos with incredible dynamic range. Even when I look back at my pictures before I have edited them, I can't believe how vibrant they are. The camera itself is pretty light, and easy to transport. It is a mirror-less camera which I believe causes the battery life to be pretty short. It's also full frame, meaning that the its' footage looks incredibly cinematic. As it's full frame, it requires a lenses that are also full frame, which cost significantly more than the traditional micro 3/4 lenses I was used to buying previously. Also due to the fact it's full frame, it can handle a much higher ISO before the frame looks to noisy, which is awesome when shooting at night. The focus peaking is an incredibly handy feature as well, although I don't solely rely on that as it can be slightly off sometimes. I first came across the A7ii when I was browsing the Sony website one day. DJI Spark I've been wanting to buy a drone for a while now, and when DJI announced their release of the Spark drone, I couldn't wait to get my hands on it. The camera is able to shoot video in 1080p at 24 fps and able to take 12 megapixel photographs. The camera itself is attached to a 2-axis gimbal stabilizer, that keeps it level during flight. I was slightly worried about the fact that it is only 2-axis, as opposed to the 3-axis gimbals that come with the more advanced DJI models, such as the Mavic Pro. You're able to pilot the drone from either your smartphone/tablet or a transmitter. I personally use the transmitter as it dramatically increases the drones maximum range. The drone also has a 16 minute flight time, and when using the controller a maximum range of around 2km (although it's usually less). What's also worth noting, that I foolishly didn't think about, was how I'm going to get my drone about. It does come with a kind of case thing but it's not very good. It took me a fair amount of time and research, until I stumbled across this article on the best DJI Spark Cases. This is where I found out about the Lowepro View Point CS 80, and it's perfect for me! Go Pro Here 4 Black & Accessories I like to use my GoPro when using my Sony A7ii isn't possible, or for when I just can't be bothered to hold the camera anymore. I'm really into water sports like wake boarding, and a Go Pro is the perfect way to capture these activities. Although the footage has a slight fish eye distortion, this can easily be edited out on software such as Adobe Premier Pro. I also like to use my Go Pro to film some time lapses, as it records really nice picture quality and is very easy to set up. I have a fair amount of accessories for my Go Pro, which include a head strap, chest harness, guerilla mount and a go pole. What accessory I use changes depending on the activity/ location, however I would say that I primarily use my go pole.

Hey guys, I thought I would start off my blog with the 5 things that you have to do in the North Island of New Zealand. Now don't get me wrong, there is way more than 5 things that you should do, but I understand now everyone has the luxury of time. Hence, only the top 5. Now I'm a Lord Of The Rings fan, so expect some nerdy stuff to be in here as well! 1. Hukka Falls First up on our list of the 5 best things to do in the North Island of New Zealand is Hukka Falls. Located in the Taupo area, Hukka Falls is one of the most breath taking natural attractions in the country. You can follow a 2 hour hike around the falls and to the damn, or you can choose to meander around the falls themselves. 2. Tongariro Alpine Crossing Arguably one of the best single day treks in the world, the Tongariro Alpine Crossing is a breath taking 19.8km walk through the beautiful mountains. If you're up to the task, you can also summit the mountain that featured as Mount Doom in the Lord Of The Rings films. The picture shows the beautiful Emerald Lakes that can be see one your decent from the summit. 3. Hobbiton This is a must see for any Lord Of The Rings fans out there. As most of you probably know, New Zealand was the location of the famous trilogy and now you can go and visit the legendary Shire yourself. After filming the final Hobbit movie, the set was left standing so that fans from across the world could come and see where the magic happened. 4. Napier Wine Tour If you consider yourself a wine buff, then you have to go on a wine tour in Napier. You may already be familiar with Hawkes Bay wines, as they're exported all over the world. For a very affordable price you're able to hire a bus for the day and visit a selection of the finest vineyards that Napier has to offer. Alternatively, if it's a sunny day you can opt to hire a bike and travel to these vineyards yourself. This makes for a very funny experience, especially after a few glasses (or bottles) of wine. 5. Dolphin Watching - Bay Of Islands You can see dolphins in a number of areas around New Zealand, however in my opinion the best place to see them is in the Bay of Islands. The area itself is beautiful, with a nice beach to lounge on in the summer months. You can also visit the Waitangi Treaty Grounds and learn about the founding of modern day New Zealand. Thank you for taking the time to read my article on the top 5 things to do in the North Island of New Zealand.
